Fiorentina to trump Real Madrid for Higuain

Fiorentina are attempting to trump Real Madrid for River Plate striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine youngster has been the subject of intense negotiations for Real, but talks have slowed in recent weeks and that has opened the door to Fiorentina.

La Viola director general Pantaleo Corvino has been given the green light by president Andrea Della Valle to make an offer this week for Higuain, who carries a French passport.
