Fiorentina furious with Real Madrid over Mutu pursuit

Real Madrid have infuriated Fiorentina chiefs with their push for star striker Adrian Mutu.

La Nazione says so angry is Fiorentina sports chief Pantaleo Corvino that he is prepared to jet to Madrid to deliver their negative response in person.

Real have made contact with Mutu's minders and discussed a massive pay-hike on his current Fiorentina wages. But Corvino and his board are determined to hang onto the Romania international and has already had the player's Italian agent in his office last week to make the club's position clear.
