Figo scoffs: Real Madrid doesn't need Beckham

Real Madrid winger Luis Figo has taken a swipe at David Beckham.

The Manchester United star is being linked with a summer move to Real as Figo's replacement.

The Portuguese international scoffed: "If the president thinks it is important for us, it is okay with me, but I don't think it is necessary for the team."

"Football is in crisis and I don't think Real Madrid will take such a big economic step."

"If he does come, I will not be worried."

"I will not be leaving until my contract finishes in three years and I am confident of my place in the team."

"I'm very happy here because I am with the best club in the world."
