Figo: Real Madrid situation can't continue

Luis Figo says he intends to soon discuss his future with Real Madrid chiefs.
 
The Portugal international is entering the final year of his contract and wants first team assurances from coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo for next season.

"I am not going to give an answer (on my future) until the right moment," said Figo yesterday. "I do not know if I can continue like this next season."

"If I was 18 years old, I would think differently. I have not wanted to say much on the subject in respect to the club and because I feel happy at Real Madrid."

After announcing his return from international retirement, Figo is desperate to be playing regularly next season to help spearhead Portugal's 2006 World Cup campaign.
