Figo: My dream is Liverpool move

Luis Figo has expressed his frustration at Real Madrid's reluctance to let him join Liverpool.
 
The Portugal international fears that Real's insistence on a fee, despite earlier indicating that they would be prepared to let him leave for free, could scupper his dream to play for Liverpool.

Figo is understood to have already concurred personal terms with the European Champions, only for Real to turn around and demand a fee, believed to be in the region or £2million, for the 32-year-old.

"I don't understand, if the club don't see me as part of their plans, why they won't let me go," he said.

However, Figo is keeping his fingers crossed that a deal that would see him realise his dream of playing for Liverpool can still be done.

He added: "It's close but it's still up in the air and nothing has been finalised."

"It's my dream to play for Liverpool but dreams don't always come true, I am still waiting."
