Figo has no regrets quitting Barcelona for Real Madrid

Portuguese legend Luis Figo does not regret quitting Barcelona for Real Madrid in 2000.

Figo's move was one of the most controversial transfers in history

"It was not an economic issue, but how I was valued. I informed the president (of Barcelona) a club was willing to pay the buyout clause and asked if they were interested in renewing," said Figo.

"When they realized I was going to Real Madrid, it was too late. I made mistakes during the process, but it was a wise decision. I gained prestige, experience and qualifications. Seeing what happened with some colleagues in the following years, I realized that I was right."

"I have a clear conscience, and that is enough. I'm not perfect nor do I want to be. I am what I want to be, not what others want to be."
