Figo Has No Plans To Leave Real

Portuguese wing-wizard Luis Figo has reacted to the persistent rumours tipping him for a summer-switch to Inter Milan by insisting that he is more than content at freshly crowned Spanish champions Real Madrid.

"I'll decide my future," the veteran midfielder told the press. "I have a contract with Real which I intend to honour. That is the only certainty amongst all this speculation."

Figo then proceeded to volley back at all of those who refuse to believe that the Bernabeu will prove big enough for him and Manchester United's former No. 7.

"We'll all benefit from the arrival of a player like Beckham," insisted the former Barcelona skipper. "He will be welcomed as warmly as I was."

The confirmation of Carlos Queiroz as the capital club's new coach has added a fascinating twist to the whole affair. Being that they are good friends, Figo reportedly helped pave the path for the former Portugal coach's arrival at Madrid, while Queiroz also got to know Beckham on a personal basis as well after having spent over a year as Sir Alex Ferguson's right-hand-man.
