Figo determined to "fulfill Real Madrid contract"

Real Madrid winger Luis Figo has declared he wants to see out his contract.

The Portugal international has lost his starting place to Michael Owen in recent weeks and has been linked with a move away from the Primera Liga at the end of this season.

But Figo, whose contract runs to the summer of 2006, said: "I know I am experiencing a difficult moment - but I am determined to overcome it."

"I want to help Real Madrid win the Liga and also to fulfill my contract."

Asked about Figo's situation, Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo replied: "I have not spoken with him, but he is a player of the group and I will use him when it is necessary. He continues working well."

"It is normal that he is a little upset, but his efforts are good."
