Figo: Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to break records

The former Portugal international has nothing but praise for his compatriot, and feels the prolific attacker will carry on adding milestones to his collection.

The 27-year-old has netted an impressive 45 goals in 37 league appearances this term, and can become the first player in history to score against every opponent in La Liga in one season if he manages to add his name to the score sheet against Mallorca on Sunday.

"He plays at the very highest level year after year and continues to show the quality he has, while beating his own records," Figo was quoted as saying by EFE.

"Nobody knows when his rise will come to an end. His statistics are simply amazing and seem unreal. He has a great team around him that helps him achieve these performances. In combination with his own quality, I believe that he will continue to break records."

Ronaldo is trailing Barcelona star Lionel Messi by five goals in the race for the Pichichi trophy with only one more game to go.
