Figo convinced Arsenal's Vieira on way

Luis Figo has told Real Madrid teammates that Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira is set to join them.

The Sun says Real sent Figo's agent Luis Vicente to London last week for talks aimed at sparking a move for the Arsenal midfielder.

And now Vicente has tipped off Figo, saying his mission is on the verge of being a success.

A Real insider said: "The players knew about the Vieira rumours but no one really knew what was going on until Figo arrived."

"His agent told him that Vieira is ready to leave Arsenal and Madrid will do the deal if everything goes to plan."

"Figo told a couple of the players at first but news like that spreads quickly and soon they were all talking about it."
