Figo: Barcelona's Gaspart got what he deserved

Real Madrid winger and former Barcelona star Luis Figo was pleased to hear of Joan Gaspart's resignation as Barca president.

The Portuguese ace said, "He got what he deserved."

"It was important for Barcelona to find someone who can make things better for the club. It would be difficult for someone to do worse than Gaspart."

Real sports chief Jorge Valdano was more diplomatic, saying: "With the resignation of Joan Gaspart, Spanish football has lost a great identity."

"Real Madrid cannot say much more."
