Ex-Real Madrid skipper Hierro in Qatar talks

Sacked Real Madrid skipper Fernando Hierro is in talks with Qatar SC about a lucrative deal to the Middle East.

Officials from the Qatari club met with Hierro's representatives, which included brother Manolo, over the weekend in Paris.

The Spanish international has never played abroad, but could join several European stars such as Franck Leboeuf and Steffen Effenberg in Qatar this year.
