Ex-Arsenal star Davis urges Vieira to snub Real Madrid

Former Arsenal star Paul Davis has urged Patrick Vieira to rethink his decision over joining Real Madrid.

"I would be surprised if he did leave and I don't think he will," said Davis, who spent 16 seasons at Arsenal, where he twice won the First Division championship, in 1989 and 1991.

"If he does go, it would have to be for the money, because Arsenal have just as good a chance of winning the Champions League this year as Real Madrid."

Davis also told the PA: "He has been there are the start with Wenger and the job is not really finished off yet."

"Arsenal are just as ambitious. I think what they are building is fantastic. What they did last year was unbelievable and they can go on to win the Champions League."
