Everton, Man City forced to drop McManaman interest

Everton and Manchester City have been forced to drop their interest in Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman.

The 31 year-old has been included in Real's squad for their tour of the Far East, which suggests he is a required player for the coming season.

McManaman helped David Beckham introduce himself to his new Real teammates yesterday.

"I think David will settle down well because he knows Carlos Queiroz from Manchester, and he speaks English," McManaman said.
