Everton in secret talks with Real Madrid's McManaman

Everton have held secret talks with Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman.

The Sunday People says Everton boss David Moyes has met with McManaman to discuss a possible summer move and the England midfielder has promised to speak again with the Scot.

McManaman is interested in a move to Goodison Park, though his wages will prove a stumbling block.

Everton are unlikely to commit to more than £20,000-a-week. McManaman earns over £66,000-a-week at Real.
