Everton boss confirms interest in Real Madrid's McManaman

Everton boss Dave Moyes has admitted his interest in Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman.

Moyes, currently in Austria with his squad at training camp, said: "Steve McManaman is someone who I think could be a good addition to the squad."

But he added: "I am keen to bring in young players for the future and I need to counter that with some good honest professionals who can do a job."

"We have not spoken to Steve McManaman, there has been nothing done with Steve McManaman."

"At this present time I cannot say anymore on it and we are not doing anything just now because people know I am pursuing Sean Davis."

"I want to get some young players in rather than those who are coming to the end of their playing days, though I wouldn't put Steve McManaman in that category yet."
