The match ended with a 3-2 victory to Liverpool FC. And with this win Liverpool won their 5th trophy in 6 month.
The 1st half was an open affair with no big chances until the 23rd minut where Liverpools John Arne Riise scored on Michael Owen's perfect pass. In the last minut of the 1st half Liverpools Emile Heskey made a fantastic dribble between to Bayern defenders and scored with no chance for Oliver Kahn.
The 2nd half started like the first ended, with a Liverpool goal. This time is was Michael Owen with a superb finish. With the 3rd goal the match looked decided, but in the 57th minut Bayerns Hassan Salihamidzic scored with a beautyful header after a corner kick. The goal started a big Bayern offence and it paid of in the 82nd minut where Carsten Jancker scored a real power goal. Giovanne Elber shot a volley in front of Sander Westerweld goal and Jancker scored with a header. Even though Bayern München put a lot of heat on the Liverpool defence they couldn't score. Even Oliver Kahn played as an attacker the last 2 minuts.
All in all a very deserved win for Liverpool FC.
