European giants circle Real Madrid for Raul

Europe's biggest clubs are monitoring Arrigo Sacchi's arrival as Real Madrid's new general manager.

Raul is the subject of their interest, with Sacchi's appointment leading to speculation that an overhaul of the playing staff could include the sale of their captain.

Raul's agent, Gines Carvajal, has already revealed that he is receiving calls from club presidents declaring their interest in the striker - though is quick to add that his client is happy at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"The other day I was with a president of a great club and he said to me that he would like to sign Raul. He likes him a lot and that's why he asked," said Carvajal.

Raul's future was up for debate in the opening weeks of this season when he struggled for form and goals with both Real and the Spain national team. The striker has since recaptured his best form, but Sacchi's arrival has created fresh speculation over his status at Real Madrid.
