Los Merengues' playmaker enjoyed parts of the 4-2 win, but stated that he thinks the team can play better and need to stamp their authority throughout the entirety of matches.
“We started of really well. We deserve most of the credit in the first 30 minutes," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
"We slowed the tempo a little in the last 15 minutes and we played sporadically in the second half. We did however have the match under control.”
He continued, “I think we can play better as time goes by. We are scoring a lot of goals and winning with authority, but we need to play better.”
After starting brightly against Valladolid, Madrid's play subssequently lacked the drive that so many have highlighted this season and Granero is wary that it might come back and haunt them against AC Milan in midweek.
“We host Milan on Wednesday, and although they aren’t in their best form, they are still a strong team. I am sure it will be a tough match.”
