Espanyol's Roger the missing link?

Real Madrid are reported to have targeted Espanyol midfielder Roger Garcia to man the left wing next season.

The Madrilenos see the 24-year-old Catalan star as the solution to the problems the team has encountered on the left of midfield this season.

Pedro Munitis, Steve McManaman, Savio Bortolini and Santiago Solari have all been fighting to fill the role for The Merengues this year, causing a major headache for coach Vicente Del Bosque.

Real Madrid chairman Florentino Perez has been impressed with Roger, who has enjoyed a superb season at Espanyol. The player is valued at just £3.5million ($ US 5m) and has two years left on his current deal with Paco Flores' Perequitos.
