Eriksson in Real Madrid talks over 2004 deal

England manager Sven Goran Eriksson will move to Real Madrid at the end of next season.

The Evening Standard says the appointment of Carlos Queiroz this week as Real trainer will only last 12 months before the Swede takes over.

The newspaper says the deal is now basically done despite Eriksson's contract with the Football Association until 2006 and Queiroz's appointment for two years yesterday.

Secret talks between Real intermediaries and Eriksson were held during David Beckham's move from Manchester United a fortnight ago.
