Emerson convinced he's won over Real Madrid boo-boys

Emerson believes he's won over the Real Madrid boo-boys after his performance in Sunday's victory over Osasuna.
 
The win leaves Real just two points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona and was a personal triumph for Emerson, who was making his first appearance at the Santiago Bernabeu in over two months.

"The truth is that, yes, I felt very wanted by the Bernabeu crowd. It was a very special day for me because the public supported me a lot.

"On the field I tried to do the best possible thing to repay the confidence that they gave me," said Emerson.

"I took my shirt home and hung it on the wall because after so much trouble, I believe this game has marked a turning point in my Real Madrid career."

Asked if he believes Real have Barcelona rattled, Emerson replied: "Fear isn't a word I would use. But yes, I believe Barcelona now respects Real Madrid more than ever because they know we are a strong rival."
