Duo express unhappiness

Duo Cesar Sanchez and Savio Bortolini are growing increasingly tired of their backseat roles at Real Madrid.

Both players put in admirable performances against Pájara Playas de Jandía in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday and yet find themselves marginalised once again for the team's league and European fixtures.

Striker Savio, who netted Real's fourth goal at Pájara, is now threatening not to renew his contract with the Merengues so that he can leave on a free transfer in June 2003.

"I didn't see Wednesday's game as an opportunity for me to prove myself, everyone knows what I can do," Savio said, "What's not acceptable is that I only get a chance to play every two months. I won't be renewing my contract with Real but I will finish my stint here. If the club wants to make money, they can sell someone else".

Cesar meanwhile voiced his resentment to local daily Marca, "It's an uncomfortable situation. This has gone on a long time now and although I respect the decisions of others, they must understand that this is not easy for me. You start the season with excitement but gradually that disappears."

"I don't want to moan but, at times, I feel that I'm of no use to Real and that's a very unpleasant feeling".
