Duo doubtful for Sunday

Real Madrid striker Raul Gonzalez could end up missing Sunday's league clash at Oviedo after suffering a knock whilst on international duty.

Raul complained of pains in his left ankle on Tuesday, but started Wednesday's World Cup qualifier - during which he hit Spain's equalizing goal.

The player was admitted to Real's clinic on Thursday after the pains failed to subside and has not been able to train as normal.

Club medical chief Alfredo Del Corral explained on Friday: "Raul is suffering from a sprained ankle and we won't know whether he'll be fit to play against Oviedo until we run further tests on Saturday morning."

The news is a blow to the 23-year-old marksman who, with 23 league strikes this season, is on course to finish the year as the Liga's 'Pichichi'.

Real could also be missing Luis Figo on Sunday as the number 10 is nursing a shoulder problem and could well be rested by team coach Vicente Del Bosque against Oviedo.
