Donadoni expects Inter Milan move for Real Madrid's Cassano

Inter Milan will approach Real Madrid today about striker Antonio Cassano.

After learning that AC Milan had rejected a swap proposal offered by Real Madrid which would have seen Cassano move to Italy in exchange for Ricardo Oliveira, city rivals Inter are expected to make their move today.

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni added his voice to the speculation yesterday, admitting: "It wouldn't surprise me to see Cassano join Inter - because nothing in football surprises me."

"But the Interista do risk upsetting their morale with the increase in competition for places. Which is exactly what has happened to Cassano in Madrid."

"If I was to advise him, I would tell the player to go to a club where he is guaranteed to play with continuity."
