Real Madrid midfielder Steve McManaman has poured cold water on reports tipping him for a return to England this summer.

"I am still a Real Madrid player and I do not plan to go anywhere," insisted the former England international, who has been linked with Arsenal, Everton and Manchester City in recent weeks.

"I will begin preseason training with Real and later travel with the squad to Asia," he added.

"I have had hundreds of calls asking about me returning to England. But the truth is I am a Real Madrid player, we have won the championship and I am on holiday."
