Diarra keeps Man Utd waiting as he hopes for Real Madrid

Real Madrid are convinced they've beaten Manchester United for Lyon midfield ace Mahamadou Diarra.
 
AS says Diarra has already told United boss Sir Alex Ferguson he wants to play for Real Madrid, despite agreeing personal terms with the Premiership giants and seeing Lyon accept United's £20 million offer.

Frederic Guerra, the Mali international's agent, intends to meet with the candidates for the Real presidential elections to sound out their interest in Diarra.

If none of the candidates show serious interest in the African, only then will the midfielder put his signature on a Manchester United contract.
