Di Maria touches down: I hope to win many trophies with Real Madrid

Angel di Maria touched down in Spain last night to kickoff his Real Madrid career.

The former Benfica winger concedes his flat World Cup may have been influenced by all the transfer speculation in recent weeks.

"I am very happy to come here. I hope to win many titles with Real Madrid," Di Maria said at the local airport.

Asked if the transfer rumours had affected his form for Argentina, Di Maria added: "Maybe, but I am eager to succeed and grow as a player."
