Di Maria: Beautiful to know Mourinho wants me at Real Madrid

Benfica star Angel di Maria has spoken openly of the prospect of joining Real Madrid.

Real and Benfica are currently thrashing out terms over a fee for the Argentina international.

"It is beautiful that (Jose) Mourinho has asked for me and said that he wants me, it makes me more calm and I am happy because I will have the possibility to go to Madrid if God wants it," Di Maria told EFE.

"It would be very beautiful for me to move to Real Madrid. Now I am calm, I am only thinking about the national squad, I have some matches ahead and then we will see what happens with my future."

"I have not spoken to anyone about that matter, I do not know anything, my mind is with the national squad, I want to think only about the World Cup. Then we will see."
