Desperate Madrid Turn To Joaquín

Real Madrid’s summer drought continued after they failed in their bid to capture three key players who headed their shopping list but they are now setting their sights on a more feasible option.

After failing miserably in their attempt to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, Santi Cazorla and David Villa, Real Madrid are now turning their attention to another Valencia player, Joaquín.

Desperate to boost their attacking options and soften the blow of a miserable transfer season, the Blancos hierarchy are now reportedly studying the 27 year old as an alternative to occupy the right flank, according to Marca.

The former Real Betis man has never been a top priority for Los Merengues but with the transfer market opened only for another four days, the board is feeling desperate to rope in a new face after all the hype and hoopla surrounding Villa and Cazorla over the last few days.

Joaquín will certainly be an easier, if not definite, catch for Madrid if they do make an official bid. The Valencia chiefs have already made it clear that they will have to sell off the winger should they successfully hang on to Villa and David Silva, in order to relief some of their debts.

And with Los Ché recently tying up the attacking duo to massive, long term contracts, the exit door has grown even bigger for Joaquín.
