Deportivo beat Rosenborg to clinch Champions League place

Deportivo Coruna clinched a place in the Champions League with a nervous 1-0 victory over Norwegian side Rosenborg Trondheim in their third qualifying round second leg on Tuesday.

Deportivo, under pressure after managing no better than a goalless draw in the opening leg two weeks ago, moved ahead in the tie with an Albert Luque strike after 16 minutes.

The Spanish international striker finished off a sweeping break out of defence with a powerful left-foot strike from the edge of the area.

Rosenborg had chances to equalise in the second half as Deportivo tired but the Spaniards held on to ensure their fourth successive appearance in Europe's top club competition.
