Del Bosque - we're still favourites

Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque remained calm after his side let slip a two goal lead to draw 2-2 against Espanyol on Sunday night.

The weekend results saw second-placed Deportivo log a 2-1 win against Alaves reducing the gap at the top of the table to six points, which could mean the title race will go to the last game of the season.

But Del Bosque is confident that Real Madrid have done enough to clinch their 28th league title: "We have an important advantage at the top of the table - a six point lead with four games to go and that makes us the favourites to pick up the league," Del Bosque said.

Regarding Sunday's draw against Espanyol, the Madrid chief said: "I thought that we put in a good first half, creating a lot of opportunities on goal. The first few minutes after the interval were crucial in Espanyol's fight-back."

“They were superior to us and gave us a lot of problems. We backed off later in the game I don't know whether that was to do with tiredness or a drop in moral after Rotchen scored."

Del Bosque has ordered his players to take two days of rest, taking advantage of the regional holiday in Madrid in celebration of the city's patron, San Isidro.
