Del Bosque Upbeat Despite Betis Defeat

Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque refused to be downcast despite seeing his side well beaten by Betis in the Trofeo Bahia de Cartagena.

The Merengues looked a disjointed outfit as the likes of Joaquin and Marcos Assuncao stamped their authority on the midfield area for Betis.

"This is the same team as last season, so we don't have to talk about how others have brought in players, because we know exactly what we want," Marca quoted Del Bosque as saying.

"We've scored in other games. The only thing is that we didn't play well and we were playing a very good side."

"We improved in the second half, but we never reached the level we hoped for."

Assuncao and Alfonso scored the goals for Betis.
