Del Bosque: Real went flat

Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque stated after watching his team draw against Valladolid 2-2: "The games schedule we've had in the past two weeks has affected us, especially in the second half. We went flat."

Recent signing Zinedine Zidane scored at the five-minute mark to put Real ahead but Fernando Fernandez scored just a minute later to even it up. Raul added one later at the 20 minute mark for a 2-1 half-time score line.

But Bravo Cuauhtemoc scored a last minute goal to ensure a draw at the final whistle.

Del Bosque said of his team: "We had opportunities, but failed to score."

The coach also took responsibility for the lack of changes in the side after Valladolid tied up the score.

"The whole team was playing well, particularly in defense, so I didn't consider the possibility of breaking that balance we had."

Del Bosque said of the referee’s decision that resulted in the first goal for their opponents: "I'm not going to judge the referee's work. There are different opinions and he made the decision he thought it was right."
