Del Bosque promises action

Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque has said that his team would be out to silence the critics when they meet Roma on Wednesday.

Del Bosque told a packed press conference after Tuesday's training session that he's expecting, "a magnificent show" in the Champions League tie - a game that Real need only to draw to finish as leaders of Group A.

"We'll be playing for the top spot and that encourages us to put in a great display," he said.

Del Bosque was eager to dampen down the recent criticisms of the club's league outings, Real are in 15th place in the table with 10 points from the first nine games.

"It's no big drama to draw against clubs like Celta or Alavés - nobody was up in arms when Deportivo drew against Celta."

"We're playing well in other competitions, look how we fared in the cup at Pájara Playas or last week in the Champions League against Anderlecht. Few clubs play better football than Real Madrid, there are 29 games left and I have full confidence in our players to see us bounce back," he ended.
