Del Bosque praises derby troops

Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque says his team were ‘superior’ to Rayo after his team romped home with a 3-0 win at the nearby Teresa Rivero.

Raul González put Real ahead after just two minutes and from then on it was a cakewalk for the Merengues.

Fernando Morientes demonstrated that he is fine form netting his third brace in a week for Real as Rayo's league woes hit a further low.

"We have been able to show our superiority on the pitch although there were a few anxious moments in the second half," the Real boss said.

Del Bosque also justified his decision to take off Morientes when the striker was one goal away from his hat-trick against Gergorio Manzano's men.

"We can't have a national debate every time Real Madrid makes a change to the side. For me, we were losing control in the centre of the pitch and that's why I took Moro off and brought on Albert Celades," Del Bosque ended.
