Del Bosque pleased with Real's second-half efficiency

Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque was relieved to see his side rediscover their ruthless streak as they came from behind to beat Anderlecht 4-1 on Wednesday.

Real took time to get going in their Champions League group A clash and fell behind to a goal from Aruna Dindane on 33 minutes.

But they upped the tempo of their game in spectacular fashion after the break and goals from Albert Celades, Raul (2) and Santiago Solari earned them a third straight victory in the competition.

"We had an uncomfortable period in the first half, when Anderlecht played some good football, counter-attacking well," Del Bosque said.

"They had two good chances and scored one. We created a lot of chances in the first half as well but couldn't find the final touch."

"We were more effective in the second half and that helped us resolve the game."

Looking ahead to the rematch in Belgium, Del Bosque said he expected a more difficult test.

"European nights are never easy," said the unassuming Real boss.

"We showed some superiority tonight but I'm sure the game in their ground will be difficult."

"We'll have to suffer to take the three points."

Solari, who capped a fine display with a smart chip for Real's fourth goal, said the result was a reward for his side's patient approach.

"We were a little nervous at one point because we didn't deserve to be a goal down," the Argentine midfielder told Real Madrid television.

"We didn't lose our heads, though, and we played with the same patience in the second half."

"We played just as well in the first half, really, it's just that the goals didn't come at first."

Anderlecht coach Aime Anthuenis recognised that Real had proved much the better side in the second half.

"In the game as a whole we saw the big difference between the two teams," he said.

"In the first half we played well and had some chances but after the break the pace increased, Real played much faster, and we saw the difference."
