Del Bosque Opts For Besiktas

Vicente Del Bosque has turned down the chance to join the Real Madrid technical staff, instead signing a contract with Turkish giants Besiktas.

The tactician has been out of work for a year after being sacked by Real despite leading the club to the La Liga title.

Del Bosque reached an agreement with Besiktas yesterday. He has the option of being able to leave after one season if he cannot adapt to the city of Istanbul.

Besiktas vice-president Kivanç Oktay, said: "He is a very successful coach who led Real Madrid to big achievements. We put all our effort into getting him in charge of our team."
