Del Bosque: Makelele loss will hurt Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid trainer Vicente del Bosque says the loss of Claude Makelele is a massive blow to the club's ambitions this season.

In an interview with Radio Marca, Del Bosque was critical of Real's handling of Makelele's eventual move to Chelsea.

"With Makelele, there was definitely the chance of an agreement (on him staying)," said Del Bosque.

"He was Real's most important player last season."
