Del Bosque impressed by Real Madrid fighting qualities

Vicente del Bosque was matter-of-fact after seeing his Real Madrid team held 1-1 at Racing Genk last night.

Real qualified first in their Champions League group despite the draw thanks, in part, to Tote's strike on 21 minutes. Wes Sonck equalized for the Belgians five minutes from time.

Del Bosque used the game to hand several of his fringe players a run and said afterwards: "The team never laid down and after a tough first-half, dominated the second and controlled the ball well."

"It is true we didn't finish them off, but we didn't have the luck. But we don't want to speak lowly of this result, because Genk have played very well and deserved something from this game."
