Del Bosque backs Capello at Real Madrid

Vicente del Bosque has defended the work of Fabio Capello at Real Madrid this season.

The fans' choice to replace the Italian, Del Bosque insisted last night: "Fabio Capello has the job at the moment, so there's no chance of me returning. He imposes a system at Real Madrid which I like, if it fails then it is the players' fault."

"It's true that Real Madrid aren't playing a 'showy' type of football, but I am not one who would question the value of Capello's work."

"It is important to remember this project is only in midterm. It's a two or three year proposition."

On his return to Real, Del Bosque added: "My doors have always been open to Real Madrid. But this is a decision that is not left up to me."
