Del Bosque Attempts To Retract Ronaldo Blast

Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque has attempted to explain himself after it appeared yesterday that he slammed Ronaldo.

Del Bosque appeared to suggest that one player wasn't committed to work for the team, but only himself and that player was none other than Brazilian superstar Ronaldo.

He said: "All the players we have, except for one, are committed to working for the team, without putting Zidane over Raul, nor Zidane over Figo."

"There is one player who is different, and if you like, well fine, but if you don't, you look for someone else."

"The one who is different is Ronaldo, the others are all determined to win titles for the club."

His outburst understandably caused much surprise amongst the onlookers in Salamanca, where Del Bosque was hosting a function. However, he has attempted to play down the storm.

"I am to blame. I have explained myself badly and I wan't to apologise for this." he said.

"What I meant is that he is a unique soccer player, he has very special characteristics because he has more freedom on the pitch. I am very happy with him because he's integrated perfectly into the team."
