Defender back in action

Roberto Carlos will be in the starting line-up for Real Madrid's clash with Sevilla on Saturday, after he passed a fitness test this afternoon.

The Brazilian has been out of action for the last three weeks, but after shaking off tendon damage in his right knee the defender took part in his country's 3-0 win over Venezuela on Wednesday.

Club doctor Alfonso Del Corral said this afternoon: "Roberto Carlos wants to play on Saturday and after the tests we have run, we've decided to give him the all-clear."

"Now it's up to the coach to say whether he'll play against Las Palmas or not."

Del Corral added that although scans show that the tendon is not at risk of extra damage, Roberto Carlos must still take things slowly and continue with physiotherapy sessions.
