Cruzeiro's Maldonado rejects Porto for Real Madrid chance

Cruzeiro have revealed an offer from Porto has been rejected by midfielder Claudio Maldonado.

The Chile international is being tracked by Real Madrid and Deportivo La Coruna and is understood to be only focused on a move to Spain this year.

"Maldonado did not accept the proposal from Porto and made no attempt to negotiate," declared a Cruzeiro spokesman yesterday.

Indeed, a representative of the Chilean's was quoted in the local press saying he turned down Porto "because he is waiting for something better from Spain".
