Congo set for Italian move

Real Madrid striker Edwin Congo could be poised to move to Italy after holding talks with Serie A sides Inter Milan and Torino.

Congo is one of the five Real Madrid players that have been told by the club that it may be wise to move on before the new season gets underway in little under two week's time.

The player's agent, Michel Basilevict, met with Inter's Sports Manager Giuliano Terraneo on Monday to talk about the possibility of Congo playing in Serie A next term. Also interested are Serie A newcomers Torino, who are keen to rebuild for the new season, along with French outfit, Auxerre.

Congo, whose contract with Madrid expires in June 2004, would prefer to stay on an prove himself at the Bernabeu but that option looks unlikely seeing as coach Vicente Del Bosque has no room in the side for him.
