CL SF Buildup: Capello Says Juve Must Attack

AS Roma coach Fabio Capello has indirectly advised his Juventus counterpart Marcelo Lippi to resist adopting an overly defensive stance against his former team Real Madrid on Tuesday.

"Above all you can't give their big stars space to play in," warned Capello, "You have to close them down in every area of the field without ever stopping from playing yourself, because at the Bernabeu if you just close up shop you are finished."

The highly animated coach, who won the Spanish title with Real in 1997, concluded by commenting on the European champion's incredible 5-1 loss at home to Mallorca on the weekend.

"I wouldn't consider that to be a good sign for Juventus," he opined. "On the contrary, I fear that it could be even tougher for Juventus because Real will have woken up and will be much more concentrated and much harder than they were on Saturday."
