CL Semifinal Reaction: Juventus Deserved It, Admits Del Bosque

Real Madrid boss Vicente Del Bosque showed himself to be magnanimous in defeat after his side were knocked out of the semifinal stage of the competition by a magnificent Juventus.

"Do I think it is fair that Juve won?" he asked rhetorically during his post-match press-conference. "Well, considering that they scored more than us over the two games then you have to say that they deserved it. The only thing that remains to do is to congratulate them."

The classy coach concluded by openly pondering what would have happened had he opted for the three-man defensive system they had experimented with in practice.

"It [a three-man defence] was a possibility that we thought about but in the end we decided not to change too much ahead of a Champions League semi-final," he said. "We don't know what would have happened if we would have used that tactic."
