CL Report: Honours Even Between Madrid and Porto

Real Madrid and FC Porto played to a 1-1 draw in Champions League play at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

With this result Porto made a little bit of history as they become the first Portuguese team to gain a draw in Madrid. A Portuguese team is yet to win there.

Porto looked dangerous in the opening minutes, but it was Real who scored first.

Zidane, Figo and Ronaldo combined to produce a superb passing play that was finished off by Santiago Solari in the 9th minute.

In two games at the Bernabéu against Porto, Solari scored both of Real's goals.

Derlei bagged the equalizer for Porto from the penalty spot in the 35th minute. The penalty was awarded when Salgado brought down Deco in the box.

Figo and Ronaldo were brought off at half time as they joined David Beckham on the sidelines. The English skipper did not play.

Vitor Baia was forced into many spectacular saves in the second half to ensure that Porto walked out of Madrid with a point.

With this result, Real finsh tops in Group F while Porto also advance to the next round as a second-placed seed.
