Cicinho "very happy" with Real Madrid deal

Brazil international fullback Cicinho is delighted to have completed his move to Real Madrid.
 
The former Sao Paulo defender said: "I'm very happy to be joining Madrid. I am with my family and my fiancèe and we're on the verge of entering a restaurant to celebrate the transfer. I am crazy with happiness and anxious to move to Madrid."

"The interest of Madrid has been going for some time - and was independent to Vanderlei Luxemburgo. I am grateful to him for everything he has done. But I am not in Madrid because of him."

He added: "My main strength is attacking. Like all wing-backs from Brazil. But I know how to defend, as I proved in the Club World Championship."

"I'm going to Madrid with the intention of playing. I know Carlos Diogo and Michel Salgado are both great players and I respect them a lot."

"I just want to contribute to my new team."
