Chelsea won't go higher than £20M for Real Madrid's Beckham

Real Madrid have been warned that Chelsea won't pay over the odds for midfielder David Beckham.

Chelsea have told Real that their £35 million demands are way too rich and that they won't go higher than £20 million for the England skipper.

Beckham's £120,000-a-week salary would take the Blues package up to £50m over five years.

A Chelsea source told The Sun: "Real may want to squeeze as much as possible out of Roman but the reality is David wants to go to Chelsea and the Spanish know it."

"Chelsea is not a charity and Mr Abramovich did not make his fortune without being an astute businessman."
